Not always in the Middle East, in Southeast Asia there is also a Desert

When people were asked which one area is identical to the desert? Yes, surely the answer is not so far away from this area. Where else, if not the Middle East region. Needless asked, it seems people from different parts of the world know when the Middle East very closely with the desert.

However, the desert is actually not only in the Middle East. In various continents such as Africa, Europe, and others also are deserts. Even in Southeast Asia tropical with high rainfall also was also no desert. Where the Southeast Asian desert located?

None other than the 'Gumuk Pasir', the deserts are located in Indonesia, precisely in Yogyakarta. According to some sources, the desert is the only one in Southeast Asia.

Gumuk Pasir is located very close to the Parangtritis Beach. This a vast expanse of sand. Even the atmosphere is very much looks like the Sahara Desert in Africa. Thus making also known as the Sahara Desert of Indonesia.

No wonder if the sand dunes visited by tourists. The deserts are often a favorite location for pre-wedding. Then, also often become a location of video clips of Indonesian famous singers.

According to the study, Gumuk Pasir formed by the sands of material volcanic eruption of Mount Merapi on the wind toward the sea. Then sand merges with the sea water and exposed to the waves for thousands of years. Then formed into fine sand and dunes of the desert as you can see today.
